WIC

Pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding mothers as well as children up to their fifth birthday who financially qualify can take advantage of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), which provides nutrition and breastfeeding counseling and education; as well as health monitoring and nutritious foods. Mothers on Medicaid and foster parents automatically qualify.

WIC provides nutrition, breastfeeding support, health education and other services, free of charge, to pregnant women, mothers, infants and children up to the age of 5 who qualify. WIC teaches moms what to eat while pregnant or breastfeeding and what to feed their growing children. Participants as well as members of the public can take advantage of free breastfeeding classes as well as an app that provides support 24/7.

MCHD WIC serves Monongalia, Preston, Marion, Harrison, Doddridge and Taylor Counties. Call WIC at 1-800-675-5181 or in Monongalia County at 304-598-5181. The fax number for all locations is 304-598-5585.
