The mission of the Monongalia County Health Department is to achieve a healthy community by protecting and promoting public health through education, training, community awareness provision of health services and advocacy.


Enhanced Health Services

Enhanced Health Services includes Home Care Services, Dental Services and WV Healthy Start HAPI Project. Home Care Services specializes in skilled nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, medical social services, home care aid, and nutritional therapy. The Dental Clinic is a pediatric dental clinic geared for West Virginia children under 19 years of age. HAPI is designed to enhance medical management, to teach skills needed for a healthy pregnancy, and to promote continued wellness for the newborn and family.


Home Care Services
Home Health Services are provided to patients in their homes or where they stay to enable them to recuperate or learn to live independently with an injury, disability, or long-term illness.
Dental Clinic
The Monongalia County Health Department's Dental Clinic offers gentle dentistry for infants, children and teenagers (under 21 years of age) from West Virginia.
HAPI--Helping Appalachian Parents And Infants
The goal of this program is to help women and their families have the healthiest babies and families possible.
