Online food workers cards are not accepted by the Monongalia County Board of Health and do not meet requirements.
Food Worker's Testing
Those with working knowledge of the 2005 Food Code as enacted by West Virginia and an existing Monongalia County issued Food Worker's Card may "test out" of the above course with an additional $5 test fee. Candidates must study information ONLY available online by downloading the information below. Participants must score 80 percent to renew his or her one-year card at a cost of $10. Anyone scoring less than 80 percent will be issued a temporary card and must attend the next scheduled class.

Food Establishment Manager's Test
Those with extensive knowledge of the 2005 Food Code, as enacted by West Virginia, may test out of the course for $50. The test consists of true/false and multiple choice questions based on the course goals presented in the Manager's Training Course. You must score 80 percent or higher to pass the test and to receive a certificate.
Test Dates: Aug. 11, Sept. 15, Oct. 13, Nov. 10, Dec. 15
Test Times: 10 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 3 p.m.
Testing begins and ends promptly at the times indicated. Registration and payment begins 15 minutes prior to the starting test time. Those arriving after the starting time will not be allowed additional time past the ending time. The test fee is $50 per person. The Manager's Training Manual may be purchased for an additional $25.

Training Center
The Monongalia County Health Department’s Training Center is an attractive, multi-functional facility complete with state of the art presentation equipment including a satellite downlink, projection units, VCR, Smart Boardtm, computer, document camera, and wireless microphones. It provides comfortable seating and table arrangements for a professional classroom setting.
Training Center is available to non-profit organizations and on a rental basis with the following rates:
Non-Profit Organization

Local Health Departments may rent at the State rate. The Training Center offers classroom seating for up to 60 people and with additional perimeter seating of 36, it can accommodate a maximum of 96 people. The Center’s versatility allows for it to be separated in half for smaller meetings of 30 in a classroom with a maximum seating of 48 people.
Our satellite system is capable of receiving C and KU band transmissions. Entities may rent half of the center at $50 or the entire center at $100 for satellite broadcasts for all or any part of a day. These rates do not include the use of any other equipment. There is no fee to tape satellite broadcasts while renting the center provided there are no copyright restrictions and the renter provides the blank VCR tapes.
All presentation equipment is available and a brief orientation in the use of the equipment is included as a part of the facility rental rate. Additional instruction is available for equipment operation at $20/hr or $100/day.
In order to preserve the integrity of our facility, food and beverages with the exception of water are prohibited. For your convenience, a lunch/break room and restrooms are readily available. A conference room may also be scheduled for your training needs at an additional fee.
