COVID-19 Vaccine Information

Monongalia County Health Department joined with Monongalia County, WVU Medicine and Mon Health System beginning Jan. 25, 2021, for a combined COVID-19 effort. Vaccine clinics are taking place at the old Sears location at the Morgantown Mall. Currently, anyone 16 and older is eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
  • You can sign up for a vaccine here: Vaccine.WVUMedicine.org
  • Questions about COVID-19 vaccine safety? Here is some information.
  • More information about the Jan. 25, 2021 press conference announcing the joint COVID-19 vaccine clinic can be found here.
  • CDC information about the vaccine can be found here.
  • When it is your turn to get a vaccine, consider wearing a short-sleeved shirt, with, if necessary because of the weather, an easily removable sweater or shirt over top.
  • When you do get a COVID-19 vaccine, it must be at least two weeks after you've had any other vaccine. You then must wait at least two weeks after the second COVID-19 dose before getting any other vaccine.
  • Even after you are vaccinated, you will still need to follow COVID-19 guidelines, including wearing a mask, maintaining social distance, washing your hands and staying home when you can, as the virus continues to surge.
  • Updates will be added to this site as well as to Monongalia County Health Department's Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.
When you get your COVID-19, you should download the V-safe app. This will allow you to respond to messages about your post-vaccination experience and get reminders about your second dose.

COVID-19 Testing Information

Monongalia County Health Department is currently holding free COVID-19 testing events at the WVU Rec Center for anyone who wants one. Times and dates will be updated below and also on MCHD's social media: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Testing is conducted not only on symptomatic individuals but also asymptomatic individuals who could be spreading COVID-19. This testing now also offers same-day test results.
WVU Medicine conducts testing Monday through Saturday at 6040 University Town Centre Drive. A provider order is needed for the testing at WVU Medicine.
