Seeking motivation to become more physically active in the community by biking, trail walking or checking out a gym or an exercise class?
Or do you have concerns with health care and quality of life issues that you would like to see addressed?
Monongalia County Health Department’s newest program, Health Promotions, takes our current community outreach to a new level with incentives to encourage area residents to get out and explore new opportunities. It also emphasizes partnerships with area businesses and health care facilities that allow us to help tackle problems faced by area residents.
Expect to see Monongalia County Health Department staffers tabling at more events, not only providing services such as vaccines, naloxone, information and more, but also engaging with the public to find out ways that we can help meet your needs.
The Wild and Wonderful Wellness Passport allows area residents to collect stamps in a booklet at partnering locations in order to win gifts. Twenty-four stamps will earn a participant an entry into a drawing for the grand prize — a six-person cabin at Mountain Creek Cabins, near Coopers Rock State Forest. The drawing will take place in November 2026.
MCHD Health Promotions was built on the foundation of our Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) survey and the subsequent report, the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).
