Breastfeeding awareness events to be held in early August

Monongalia County Health Department's Women, Infant's and Children's (WIC) is holding its first Breastfeeding Awareness Walk since 2019, with a new location and format!

The event takes place from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 at the Morgantown Farmers Market Pavilion. Anyone can come learn about and support breastfeeding, and pregnant and breastfeeding moms can register at the event for prizes.

There will be a short walk around the block to support breastfeeding. Light refreshments will be provided and a food truck will also be on site.

Come join us as we renew this event to help make it bigger and better than ever!

Additionally, the MCHD WIC's Harrison County office will hold its 15th annual Baby Buggy Stroll from 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Aug. 6 at the Meadowbrook Mall in Bridgeport.

Pregnant and breastfeeding moms can begin registering at 10 a.m. at the center court of the mall in front of JCPenney.

There will be door prizes as well as small discounts provided at mall stores to registered attendees, in addition to a stroll around the mall to raise breastfeeding awareness.
