WIC health screenings include weighing and measuring you and your child to monitor growth and development, identifying health and nutrition risks, checking blood iron levels and reviewing immunization records. Medical and social service referrals can be made if needed. Also, a WIC staffer refers expectant mothers who smoking to the Baby & Me Tobacco Free program, which offers incentives including coupons for free diapers to the woman and any other smoking household members.
